Nintendo of Japan’s website has revealed that Super Smash Bros Ultimate will run at 1080p and 60fps when the Nintendo Switch system is in docked mode. When you are playing the game in handheld mode it is 720p and 60fps. As we previously reported, you’ll be able to use GameCube controllers for Super Smash Bros Ultimate using the GameCube Controller Adapter.

    1. Those Pro controllers are top notch quality. The control sticks have just the right amount of spring and the buttons have the perfect amount of click. I just wish the home and snapshot buttons were further away from the plus and minus buttons.

  2. I will be playing this on day one. The question is whether I should buy physical or digital.
I must say, I do like the idea of only having only eight to ten fighters initially unlocked. Unlocking the characters is half the fun.
And as for the unannounced other modes, I’m hoping for anything but Smash Tour. Unfortunately I don’t see much chance for a Subspace Embassy with this game.

    1. With how many characters got added this go around, I’m hoping Sakurai gave the workload of creating modes for the game to other teams. His team is working with Bandai Namco, after all. With how quickly this is coming out, I don’t think he hogged most of the workload to himself this time around. (I could be wrong.)

  3. I really hope unlocking characters will actually be challenging this time like in Melee.
I was severely disappointed with how easy it was to unlock everyone in Brawl and Wii U.
You literally could just play through Subspace Emissary to unlock all of the characters in Brawl, and play a total of 100 VS. Mode matches to get everyone in Wii U. (Albeit, I did the alternative requirements which was still pretty easy).
You actually had to work hard to get everyone in Melee.
