NPD‘s June 2018 sales report has been released, and it was a successful one for Nintendo. Not only did Mario Tennis Aces reach #1 “without The NPD Group tracking digital sales from its eShop”, but the game “instantly set a record as Nintendo’s best-selling tennis game in terms of first-month sales” when it released. Super Mario Odyssey is still charting, currently at #11. Here’s the NPD data:

That was unexpected.
Good to see Aces on here. It’s well deserved. And GTA V still raking in profits. I hope they make a Switch port eventually.
According to Nintendo Switch’s lifespan will be around 10 years (with two major revisions i assume). It could sell over 100 million units. I think at least 10% of Switch owners would like to have (mobile) GTA V on Switch. Rockstar would make big bucks with this. I guess it will come some day.
that’s a fair estimate, but honestly though, on past Nintendo systems, especially handhelds (GBA, DS) the GTA games on them sold like garbage (like less than 1 million), so we’re probably talking about them having to reach something like 95 or maybe even 98 million outside of Nintendo given just how GTA has fared on Nintendo systems in the past (likely also why Rockstar is so reluctant now to put it on them)…
When games are bold and well-rounded they did sell. Value it’s important for Nintendo software too.
