DOOM Eternal was recently announced for the Nintendo Switch which certainly pleased a lot of fans who were uncertain whether the game would arrive on the system. Polygon caught up with ID Software’s Marty Stratton and Hugo Martin who reconfirmed that DOOM Eternal will feature a traditional multiplayer mode.
“The Invasion stuff is just kind of one of the ways that we’re going to make the Doom experience social,” Doom Eternal game director Marty Stratton told Polygon in an interview at QuakeCon today. “But we’re not really going deep into that. We are working on a PvP component. It is new. It’s not an extension of what we did last time. So it’s new. It is something we’re developing internally, which we didn’t do last time. I think players are gonna really enjoy it.”
“It’s very Doom,” creative director Hugo Martin added. “It’s very good.”
I finally got myself a Switch, the PC will have to rest for a bit. This will probably be a day one purchase.
What are your guy’s favorite Switch games? Would like to hear some recommendations. Mario games and Zelda of course, but what else should be on the look out for. Been currently enjoying Paladins and Crash Bandicoot.

Lol if I hadn’t already put 100+ hours into the Wii U version, that would definitely be my next game.
I found Octopath Traveler very good, also rocket League very fun and fast paced

But I suggest to you Splatoon 2
Get a Okami HD! Okami is one of my favorite games of all time.
Breath of the Wild was my first and still is by far the best Switch game for me.
On the indie scene, I suggest 20XX, and Stardew Valley. I’m also playing a lot of A Robot Named Fight.
Good to know A Robot Named Fight is on Switch. I have it on my Steam wish list, but would rather have it on Switch. I’ll have to check out 20XX too.

Dead Cells is probably in my top 3 to buy next. Hollow Knight I unfortunately already own on Steam, but I could always double dip.

Thanks for the reply. Curious as to why you recommend against Payday 2. I played a little on the Xbox and PC and thought it was pretty good. Is it a bad port on Switch?

I was very disappointed with the multiplayer on DOOM PC. It was like walking into a ghost town. Not a person in sight. Hoping this one will be better.
