The latest UK charts have been published today and it was inevitable that EA and Bioware’s Anthem would arrive at number one pushing the rest of the chart down. Nintendo is enjoying continued success in the UK market with three Nintendo Switch games in the top ten. Those games are New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

The games themselves were awesome, but the gaps between releases and lack of third party games really hurt the Wii U. Aside from maybe 2014, the Wii U was almost always having a game drought, unfortunately.
Thankfully, the Switch’s big Nintendo game droughts have become great at pushing these ports, actual good third-party releases, and quality indie games.
It’s good to see Nintendo’s representatives (New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) still remaining in UK’s top 10.
But I’ve always been following Grand Theft Auto V’s standing in UK. In the past days, it’s always able to make it to top 10.
It seems like the coming of Anthem and Far Cry: New Dawn has removed GTA V.

It’s a Mashup of a significant chunk of content from previous games with ported character models, new mechanics a few new characters, a significant amount of new items, assists and pokemon and most of the old modes missing in favor of adding 2 mediocre spirit collecting modes.
I would’ve preferred a port of Wii U with Smash Run, some new characters, stages and items added.

Ha, yes, we do know the internet exists. Also, it was such a hyped game that it is no surprise it entered at number one. Whether it remains at number one next week is another question :)

I’m interested in Anthem but this is one game I’m gonna sit out from for a bit to see how actual gamers rate the game. You can’t trust professional critics these days as they all are either scared of people with an agenda (like the members of Outrage & PC Culture) or they legitimately agree with the agenda. Sure EA is trite for the most part but ya never know: Anthem could be one of their few gems that is actually a good game.
As for the rest of the top 10, meh.
