Another month of NPD data brings another month of good news for Nintendo. According to NPD analyst Mat Piscatella, the Nintendo Switch was the best-selling hardware for the month of April 2019. Piscatella says that “Nintendo Switch sales growth was offset by declines across all other hardware platforms”, which resulted in April hardware spending being 29% lower than a year ago. But that’s not all. The Switch was also the best-selling hardware platform “year-to-date across both unit and dollar sales”. So far, Piscatella confirmed that “the Nintendo Switch 32GB with neon red and blue joy cons is the best-selling individual hardware item of 2019”. The best-selling video game accessory of April were the amiibo Super Smash Bros Series 1 Character Packs.
