Animal Crossing: New Horizons supports an auto-save system akin to the one found in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. While this feature is a welcome addition to most of the Animal Crossing players out there, it means that necessary layoffs had to be put into effect, starting with dear ol’ Mr. Resetti. According to Nintendo, the scolding mole has officially lost his job at the Reset Surveillance Center due to the upcoming game’s new feature.
“I think this will be a positive thing for the player, because in New Horizons you can stop playing in the middle of your game and it’ll still save,” said Nintendo director Aya Kyogoku in a recent interview with Mashable. “But unfortunately because there’s no necessity to reset the game or reset button on the Switch, Mr. Resetti had a hard time. He was laid off from his position.”
