The Overwatch launch party for the Nintendo Switch which was supposed to happen at the Nintendo NY store tomorrow has been canceled without a reason being given. The news was shared today by the official Nintendo NY Twitter account which states that the event was canceled by Blizzard. The company’s apologised to fans for any inconvenience caused by the unexpected cancellation.
Please be aware that the previously announced Overwatch launch event scheduled for Wednesday, 10/16 at NintendoNYC has been cancelled by Blizzard. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The thing though, and I might just be in a jaded mood today, but no one cares anymore. About anything. Morality is out the window for like 75% of people. You know how usually it’s like the Vocal minority like the alt right and their crazy shit. Like people complaining about Star Wars or Star Trek for having too many women.
Now we’re the vocal minority. The people fighting for empathy, the people who give a shit. Most the people I talk to are just like “Who gives a shit. Stop talking about politics you’re ruining my game.” No one cares about anything anymore. They will watch the world burn and do nothing. It’s like the whole world has turned into the joker. I used to say we were fighting a cold war against empathy, I’ve been saying that for over a year now… but I think the war is over. The war is over and we’ve lost and nothing changes, the poor will die, the rich will pretend they didn’t matter. Everyone will believe all the lies all the time. Everyone has their blinders on now and it’s over. It’s done. No one cares anymore. The only sliver I have left is the upcoming Canadian and US federal elections, but I know the Canadian ones are screwed. All I hear about is how evil Trudeau is and how we should all vote conservative… completely ignoring the fact that every mistake Trudeau has made has been a right leaning mistake. His biggest problem is that he’s too conservative, so everyone’s gonna vote in a conservative instead. They see Donald trump and they say “Yes Please” and then they shut themselves off to anything that isn’t telling them how right they are. And it’s not just Canada. It’s Poland. It’ Turkey. It’s Britain! Freaking Brexit. Everyone is only interested at being lied into a lull while our planet burns.
Why do I bring this up. Because people keep talking about strikes at Blizzcon like it’s going to matter. It’s not going to matter. it’s going to be 25, or 50, or a hundred people, out of like 10,000 or whatever and no one will care. The media will care. They show up and sensationalize it, but it wont accomplish anything. It will be exactly like the Area 51 attack or whatever. Everyone will show up for the memes, take pictures of themselves naruto running at the blizzard logo, then go home.

The people I meet are genuine, kind, well-behaved and interested in the political change in our country. They want the best for themselves, their families and their children.

I wish I could agree with you. The reality is I live in Hamilton Ontario Canada, and everyone around me is the exact same way as the people you say are only on the internet. My own parents are hardcore conservative, tried to explain to my why a holocaust against Muslims would be justified the last time we talked. I’m not kidding. My own father told me that because they blow up buildings it gives us the right to hate all muslims, imprison them and anything else. Torture it’s all good to them.

What he’s calling a lie is the accusation that most of the people that hate Star Trek Discovery, Star Wars 7, & Star Wars 8 are just a bunch of alt right losers angry that there are “too many women.” When you used the term usually, you were basically saying most of the people criticizing these shows are alt right when that’s just not true. I don’t know about Star Trek but I think the complaint about Star Wars is they ruined it in the process of using it to push an agenda. The same people you’re referring to love Princess Leia and are disappointed the new women lack her strong personality. Personally I didn’t mind the characters themselves, but Rey using mind trick so easily threw me off and The Last Jedi was just a terrible and confusing mess which did none of it’s characters any justice.
I’ve followed plenty of YouTubers that spoke a lot about Star Trek & it’s biggest issue is exactly like the issues people have with Star Wars. There is another issue, concerning STD, but I haven’t paid any real attention to that one. Just google Anas Abdin Star Trek Discovery if you’re interested in getting the details.

The long and the short of it is that they banned a hearthstone player for a year, and took away 100% of his winnings for the current tournament, for saying on stream that he supports the Honk Kong protests. From a politically neutral perspective, this is at the very least, a *ridiculously* over the top punishment, effectively negating two full years of his wages.
The official account for Blizz on the Chinese version of twitter then made a post about “protecting the dignity of their country”. Hardly a politically neutral response. A response Blizzard has been trying very hard to pretend didn’t happen.
I heard this but I have also heard that two chinese journalist were also fired. I heard most people saying that Blizzard was too hard for this punishment.

Persona 5 S is coming to Switch so that covers Joker. As for Simon/Richter, a collection of Castlevania games is coming to the Switch. And if you wanted an original Castlevania game that isn’t old & isn’t a collection of games or re-releases, well the franchise hasn’t had one of those in years. And why is that you ask? Because Konami, the ones that own the franchise, have been fucking idiots for the last several years and practically abandoned video game systems in favor of pachinko (basically slot (and I think pinball) machines.
Persona 5 S is only a musou spin-off (maybe, since it’s strongly implied Kasumi’s origins will be dealt with there). It’s not the original game. As for Castlevania, why put Richter as an Echo since neither Rondo nor SotN were in Nintendo consoles? Simon I can get behind, but Richter was an odd choice. Even Gabriel would make more sense.
When they started putting 3rd party representatives, I was expecting they wouldn’t suck it up for companies who were outright ignoring Nintendo these past generations. Snake’s inclusion was just a glorified way to promote MGS4 in PS3. At least Sonic had more “exclusive” games than Snake ever was.

Even if a brand new Castlevania game was coming out & skipping Switch, the first two Castlevania games ever released featured Simon as the protagonist so he can also be considered a legacy addition to Smash Ultimate. Honestly, when they first started adding 3rd party characters to Smash with Brawl, Simon should have been one of those initial 3rd party entrants because of his history with Nintendo systems. I’d argue he should have got in over Sonic back then since Simon was on Nintendo systems before Sonic ever was.
