  1. The worst part about Tour is that we’re due a new mainline, but we probably won’t see it for a couple of years while they’re promoting their mobile game.

For reference, since Super Circuit in 2001, we’ve had a new Mario Kart game every 2-3 years. MK8 came out six years ago, and the rerelease 3 years ago.

      1. Nintendo doesn’t have to follow that fan made rule though. If they wanted to make another MK game and they had a way to incentivize people to buy it even if they have Deluxe, then they’d do it. I won’t say it’s likely, I personally think it’s more likely for more DLC than a new game, but it’s not impossible

  2. Much love to the Super Circuit for GBA, as well as MK for DS.

Never understood the love for Double Dash, never clicked with me. The feel of it or the extra layer of strategy with 2 characters per kart, idk.

Super Mario Kart and MK 64 were both game changers of their time. 8 is the best, but have we gotten a great multiplayer battle mode since 64?

    1. Mario Kart DS had a compatible if not better multiplayer mode than 64, but I do agree so etching about Mario Kart 64 Mutkiplayer was extremely fun. I preferred the battle royal style of these games vs the point style of the new games for multiplayer.

  3. Mario Kart Wii is way too low. Wii is probably my favorite Mario Kart due to its variety of tracks and it has the most diverse roster (it has Funky Kong and a third of the roster isn’t pointless babies and reskins. ’nuff said). Sure, the item system might have been poorly balanced, but it had the thundercloud item that encouraged you to bump into another racer to get it off of you before it shrank you, however you were faster while it was over your head. I wish that item would come back, it was a cool concept.

So if you ask me, Wii is way too low on the list, 7 is too high, and Double Dash, while good, shouldn’t be in the top 3, should be 4th place at most.

  5. Double Dash is overrated by the media. Kart DS is still the only Kart game with missions. Kart 8 deserves the #1 spot.

  6. 𝑵𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒐 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓

This list is actually good. Few people consider Mario Kart 64 as the best MK game. But I disagree in fact MK8 is my fav MK game.

  7. MK8 is by far the best. Going back to the older ones is almost impossible for me, if only for the simple fact 8 just FEELS so much better to play. Not to mention the best course selection in the series.
DD is overrated. It had some cool ideas, but the driving feels so slippery, plus a lot of the courses imo are just plain bad or dull. And the music.. ahh what a terrible soundtrack.
I still think 64 had the best battle mode though. Idk how I’d rank them all personally, I just know 8 is my favorite. DS was very good too.
