Japan: Animal Crossing remains No.1 though newly released Xenoblade Chronicles DE closes in

This week’s sales data has arrived in from Japan via Famitsu for the week of 25th May to 31st May. On Friday, 29th May we saw the release of the enhanced port of the excellent Wii and New Nintendo 3DS JRPG, Xenoblade Chronicles arrive on the Nintendo Switch (check out our review here). Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition entered the charts at No.2 this week and Animal Crossing: New Horizons is steadily holding on at No.1. It should always be noted that Famitsu figures are based on physical sales, so it would be interesting to see how the two compare this week if digital and physical were combined. The Switch family continues to be the best-selling platform in Japan and shifted 107,593 units this week. Here’s the latest Famitsu sales charts:
