Ori and the Blind Forest & Ori and the Will of the Wisps getting Switch physical releases in December

I am 8 Bit has confirmed that both the excellent 2D platformers from Moon Studios and Xbox Game Studios, Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be getting physical editions this December. The company did announce a more expensive Ori and the Will of the Wisps physical edition which is also due December for $150, but they have assured potential customers that there will be regular editions of both Ori and the Blind Forest & Ori and the Will of the Wisps for Switch out this December.

  1. Still keeping my pre order of the Collectors edition, just love that black box plus I’m grateful both games are getting a physical Switch release.
It’s crazy that Microsoft released two games on Nintendo’s platform and both are getting physical releases, also sad that their physical releases on a competing console is better optimized and comes with both games FULLY on separate physical cartridges with no patches required to play, something Ubisoft (Starlink, Assassin’s Creed series), Capcom (RE collections) and EA (recent ports to switch) should learn from.

    1. By “sad” I meant the competition (Microsoft/Xbox) had to come over to Nintendo’s platform and show the cheap and lazy 3rd party bastards, Capcom/Ubisoft/EA, how to treat physical collector/customers when selling a product.

  2. Please Nintendo buy Moon Studio and make a Metroid Saga with this team I played both games and are by far the best 2d games I ever played

  3. WOW
Wish they made this statement before announcing the limited edition.
When you have the limited edition in the official trailer it makes you think this is the only way to get the physical copies and 150 now is Breyer than 500 from a scalper because you didn’t jump on it

  4. Now are these physical editions have both games in 1 pack or are they individually? Id much more get this than mario 3d allstars

  5. Well, I don’t know why they didn’t tell me about this. I asked just the other day if they were going to have standard physical releases for the Switch as well, because I couldn’t afford the Collector’s Edition/s. But they never answered me. So this is good news.

Now I have just one more question that will probably never get answered. Will these standard releases be available in stores, or only on their site?

  6. It would have been nice to have this option on iam8bit’s website in the first place, I feel like it was either buy this collection or miss out on the physical copies of these games. While I think the box set looks kool I definitely didn’t want to spend $161.07 (I live in NYC) on it, especially since I have these games physically already on Xbox One.
