Koei Tecmo teases that they could be working on something for the 20th anniversary of the Fatal Frame series

Japanese website Famitsu has interviewed 101 developers in its annual feature to find out what they are hoping and planning for in the new year. One of those interviewed by the publication is Konami developer, Keisuke Kikuchi, who is the producer behind the Japanese horror franchise Fatal Frame. He mentioned that 2021 will be the 20th anniversary of the Fatal Frame series and teased that he would like to celebrate it.

“2020 was a year where things that were normal were no longer normal. I’d like to look at what’s important and what I love once more, and create a game with a fresh perspective. 2021 is also the 20th anniversary of the Fatal Frame series, so I’d like to celebrate it in some way if possible.”

“We’re working hard to announce some titles by spring. We’re developing a wide range of titles, from those currently under adjustment to those with pending names.”

  1. I avoided buying the wii u fatal frame game because of the censorship. If they wanna censor games, they need to consider a toggle option.

  2. It got Manhunt Two’d? Lame. The comment seems like they would re release some games at most. Sounds like they’re doing a new IP taking lessons and mechanics from FF series. Idk. Any Fatal Frame news is good news for survival horror fans.

  3. Don’t do anything stupid like with the last game. Unless one of the things you want to do is a re-release of that game with the DLC from both Japan & the west included in it for ALL regions.
