UK charts: Resident Evil Village dethrones Pokemon Snap this week

The latest UK video games charts are now in and it is Resident Evil Village that’s claimed the No.1 spot this week dethroning the previous No.1, New Pokemon Snap. Games Industry says Resident Evil Village is the second biggest boxed launch of the year behind Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. The Nintendo Switch continues to perform well in the UK which is great news for Nintendo UK. Without further ado, here is the GfK Top Ten for the week ending 8th May:

“Nintendo Switch continues its dominance of the physical charts, with six games in the Top Ten. Alongside the aforementioned Pokémon Snap, the other games are Mario Kart 8: Deluxe at No.4 (up 29%), Animal Crossing: New Horizons at No.5 (up 5%), Minecraft on Switch at No.6 (up 13%), Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury at No.7 (down 28%) and Ring Fit Adventure at No.9 (up 13%).”

  1. Can people stop buying Mario Kart 8?! I want a MK made for the Switch. Not going to happen if Mario Kart from WiiU keeps selling like this on Switch.

    1. totally agree, people who bought it on the wiiU first day of release in 2014 feels like its been ages.. I hope at least they give us new DLC courses

  2. Multiplat games should outsell platform exclusives, especially on launch week. Really it’s good news that Pokemon Snap still has sales as it’s not a game for everyone.

  3. The resident evil 8 villain reminds me of Hachishakusama. If you can tolerate not safe for work content I recommend watching episode 3 of Toshi Densetsu.

  4. Resident Evil 8 totally deserves the number one spot seriously RE7 and RE8 outdone the previous entries in the series to me they are masterpieces.. I hope they stick to that kind of direction for the next main entries in the future
