SEGA: “we’re currently in an organizational shift”, “new Sonic game announcement might be coming soon”

In just a little more than a month, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is going to be 30 years old. There has been a lot of merchandising to celebrate the occasion, but one thing that has been missing has been the approach of a new Sonic game. Well, we’ve gotten a little more information on what has been going on, thanks to a Famitsu interview with SEGA Chief Strategy Officer Shuji Utsumi.

Utsumi acknowledged that games have been making more appearances on mobile devices than consoles lately, and says that “we’re currently in the middle of an organizational shift, and we’re currently revising various lineups [of titles]”. Once the organizational shift is done, the gaming output as of late should change.

However, you may not notice the changes immediately. Utsumi said that things are going to get going gradually from this point forward, and you should see things “more steadily” next year. He also said that “a new Sonic game announcement might be coming soon”, but he didn’t say anything more than that.

      1. I don’t have any freaking idea what you’re talking about or who are you. Disco is a common word, isn’t it?

Sue me if you have the rights for that word. -_-

      1. No, you didn’t. You only wanted to make sure i wasn’t attacking you or stealing your character. Anyway apologies accepted.

        also I wasn’t using my someone else…

  1. They still haven’t ported gamecube sonic games such as adventure, heroes or riders. I’m also avoiding future new releases that have big, omochao and classic sonic. They can be ports though.

  2. Maybe now they will learn a lesson about rushing games like that out of the blue. They just need to take their time tp discover more enlivenment for the spikey blue hedgehog.
