Japan: Game Builder Garage & Mario Golf: Super Rush led physical game sales in June

Famitsu typically releases sales numbers for software and hardware every week. But, similar to the NPD report in the United States and the GfK charts in the UK, Famitsu also puts out a monthly sales chart that shows how well video games did. This time, the top 20 sales chart is for the time period between May 31st and June 27th.

Although the data only includes physical copies of video games, the results of this month’s charts may remind you of charts from other regions. There is a very clear pattern where Nintendo is absolutely dominating sales charts around the world. 14 of the 20 games that charted in Japan in June are Nintendo Switch-exclusive titles, or a Switch version of a game. 4 of the games in the top 5, including Game Builder Garage at #1 and Mario Golf: Super Rush at #2, are first-party Switch games from Nintendo.
