The latest UK physical video game software charts are now in and the newly released The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo Switch is No.1 this week. You may be wondering why The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild wasn’t No.1, but it went up against Horizon: Zero Dawn on the PlayStation 4 in 2017. 1. Well remember it was a launch game, where there would’ve been about 500k Switches available max, versus an install base of about 80 million PS4’s so pretty obvious why it beat it.

      1. Lots of credible people have said that, although slightly hyperbolically. Although I’m not sure a game with massive brand recognition facing zero competition in new adventure games right now selling well for one week is necessarily the best argument for the games’ brilliance.

If you want to argue about the quality of the criticism the game faced, you’re going to have to actually at least mention what that criticism was, so you can explain how it is invalid.

  1. I think a lot of switch owners who have played botw, but not ss are buying it because of their love of botw.
Ss is a great game, but it’s quite different from botw. Some people will be disappointed even though ss is a great game.

  2. Everyone acts like they’ve never played the Wii version, and this is a new thing. Though to some, it IS new to them. My point? I really don’t know.
