The latest UK physical video games charts are now in and it’s a surprising title at No.1. This week Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which launched back in 2017, is this week’s No.1 video game and has seen a 6 percent sales increase week-on-week. This week sees six Nintendo Switch games in the top ten with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft Switch, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Here’s the GfK top ten for the week ending 14th August, 2021:

Yes sir the ps 5vis dominating in the west. Skyward sword is number 1 in the US. and Mario kart is number 1 in the UK and most other countries. Just like in Japan which is number 1 . It is the switch that is dominating the whole world. The ps5 is finished. They have NOTHING FOR the holiday season while the switch has metroid Pokémon and Mario. The switch does what Sony don’t MAKE AAA QUALITY GAMES. IT is games that sell systems . Sony just don’t have them . The scalper EXCUSE IS NO LONGER VALID. Sony is going to lose with the ps5. And I could not be happier
The only way the PS5 will start hurting is if Microsoft starts releasing their exclusives. Even if Sony doesn’t have console selling games, people are still going to buy the system cause of Brand recognition and the want to play actual next gen 3rd party titles. It doesn’t matter if those titles are also on Xbox if there’s still a negative stigma to branding.

You may have a point, the Valve handheld is more a threat to Sony than a Nintendo Switch joint.
Most third-party PS5 titles are also being released on PS4 so is more likely they’ll sell more PS4 in the long run anyways since almost NO ONE has a PS5.
Can we appreciate that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be almost the best selling Mario Kart franchise? It almost outsells Mario Kart Wii..
