PUMA teases Animal Crossing: New Horizons collaboration

Earlier today, German footwear manufacturer PUMA posted a teaser image on Twitter featuring the logo to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, revealing they’ll once again be collaborating with Nintendo for some exciting new products. Last year, for Super Mario’s 35th anniversary, PUMA released shoes and clothing items based on the three games featured in Super Mario 3D All-Stars, with NES themed Future Rider sneakers also following soon thereafter. This collaboration was proven to be a success, as the highly sought after shoes sold out within minutes of going live on PUMA’s webstore.

Although PUMA has yet to directly announce the Animal Crossing inspired products that they’ll be releasing, international footwear magazine Sneaker Freaker has exclusively received and shared some first look images and details. Special edition designs of three different signature PUMA shoe styles, for both kids and adults, will be released as part of the collection; Wild Rider, Suede, and Future Rider. A light turquoise hoodie sporting the outlines of 34 different villagers alongside the PUMA x Animal Crossing branding will also be available. Images of the Wild Rider style shoe (which will include a cute little bell bag pouch), as well as the aforementioned hoodie, can be found on Sneaker Freaker’s website. More info, including release dates and pricing, will be shared in the future.

  1. This means these will also be available inside Animal Crossing. I guess just with Mercedes in MK8 these things are OK as long as its not getting too much. If they’d do that more regularly, then I’d ask myself why I pay full price for a game that could be just handled by ad revenue.
Then again, going to able sisters and chosing from a selection of reknown brands to buy sneakers and stuff from would also feel kinda nice in a way. But as long as they don’t sell Onitsuka Tigers, I don’t care too much :)
