The global Pokemon GO event the Pokemon GO Tour: Johto will be kicking off on 26th February and it promises to be quite the event. Following on the back of the Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto event last year, players will be able to celebrate the legendary Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver in a brand new way. You will be able to choose between the Gold Version and Silver Version event experiences, each with version-exclusive Pokemon plus you will need to pick either Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile to adventure with. These Pokemon will be the Pokemon involved in your research tasks for Professor Willow. Here’s today’s details, with more to come in the coming weeks!
Special Research tasks will include the following challenges.
- Catching different species of Pokémon
- Evolving Pokémon
- Earning Stardust
- Taking GO Snapshots
- Defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts
Trainers will be able to earn the following rewards by completing Special Research tasks.
- Items for evolving Pokémon
- Rocket Radar pieces
- An encounter with Shiny Gyarados
- An encounter with Celebi

Ahh I loved the Kanto version of this event.
The challenge of having to catch all original 151 in a single day was really fun, I went out and played with a group of friends and had a great time!

They need to announce Pokemon Umbreon Go and Pokemon Espeon Go already. I Know Eevee and Pikachu Go got a lot of flack, but I personally loved them. Theyre also the best looking Pokemon games on the switch.
