Platinum Games has revealed more information about its forthcoming classic shoot ’em up Sol Cresta in a new live stream. The game will be available from 22nd February and you can purchase the arcade and story separately if you wish. The arcade mode will cost $39.99 and the story mode will cost $10. This means that if you are not really interested in the story mode in Sol Cresta you can skip it and just buy the arcade mode. Limited Run Games have announced that they will be creating a physical version of Sol Cresta and pre-orders begin today. Limited Run Games will also release a Limited Collector’s Edition which is priced at $129.99.
The Sol Cresta Collector’s Edition includes:
- Physical Copy of Sol Cresta for Switch
- Yuzo Koshiro 2-Disc Soundtrack
- Sol Cresta Art Cards
- Sol Cresta Enamel Pin
- 2 Sol Medals
- Sol Cresta Metal Replica Ship
- Acrylic Standees
- 5.5in Tall Mini Arcade Cabinet Replica with Video Screen – Plays Video Only

I preordered the physical version for $60. The collector’s edition looked cool, but it is too expensive for double the price.
When it says that the cabinet “plays video only”, does that mean there’s no audio outlet?
I think so. These mini things are treated as more of a collector’s item rather than a fully functional thing. Reminds me of the game gear micro.
I wish it was like the gg micro, they could have put the original Cresta game on it instead of just a little video loop.
I think both are pretty dumb. I get hand cramps from the Gameboy SP sometimes, so I can only imagine how uncomfortable something that tiny is.
That collectors edition, it says “Limited” Collectors Edition. Have to agree that is pretty expensive. It’s actually $129.99, more then twice the price. I’ve paid for collectors editions, but not “limited” collectors edition.
I know certain JRPG’s have limited collector editions, like Tales of Beseria.
Most I’ve ever paid for a collectors edition was $110, for Tales of Xillia.
Just assuming that $129 pricee tag is because it’s limited.
I still read it as “Sol Presta” every time I see that logo.
