Nintendo NY holding their first Direct streaming event in 3 years

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic isn’t over, but for a lot of people in the United States, normality has returned. Throughout the year, things have been opening back up completely, and events that had been cancelled are now making their return.

One of them is Nintendo NY. The store, located in New York City, has been a source of legendary reactions to Nintendo Direct announcements and launch events for Nintendo’s first-party games. Unfortunately, these haven’t been happening as of late. The pandemic forced Nintendo NY to close their doors “for the foreseeable future” in 2020.

Due to the store’s closure, it also meant that Nintendo NY crowd reactions were nowhere to be seen for announcements such as the reveal of Metroid Dread, the confirmation of Sora in Smash Ultimate, and more. The last time Nintendo NY live streamed a Direct for a crowd was in September of 2019.

Fortunately, the store has opened its doors again, and they have recently returned to holding events once again. And now, with the announcement of a Nintendo Direct happening tomorrow, Nintendo NY confirmed on their Twitter that, for the first time in 3 years, people will be able to attend a Nintendo Direct streaming event there. The official tweet is down below.

  1. Really cool to see these in-person events happening again, even though a Brit like myself unfortunately can’t be a part of it.

I always enjoyed watching the videos of people in these Direct streams losing their minds over a Smash reveal or something, it gave a nice sense of community.

  2. A bit off topic but I totally forgot that we always got some new content switch online when a direct occurs in September 2020, have us the Mario collection for his anniversary direct + plus Mario 95 l, September 2021 direct gave us expansion pass with 64 games, I’m quite certain the rumor gbc and gba games will be reveal tomorrow base on the statistics to get more people to buy into the explanation plus we might get splat 3 dlc reveal which will be a part of the expansion pass

  3. Thanks for letting us know Nintendo NY is located in New York cuz i sure thought it was on Planet Vegeta.

Jokes aside, neat that they are doing it after some time.
