Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania Edition has been rated by ESRB

Artwork for Dead Cells and Castlevania themed DLC

It would appear as though Motion Twin and Konami are preparing to release a physical Dead Cells bundle which will contain the base game along with the excellent expansion Return to Castlevania expansion. The game has been rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board for PlayStation 5 and presumably the bundle of 2D platforming goodness will also be available on Nintendo Switch and other platforms Dead Cells and its Return to Castlevania expansion are available on. The Dead Cells: Return To Castlevania Edition bundle was given a Teen rating by the ESRB.

“This is an action-platformer in which players control a reanimated corpse trying to escape an island prison. From a side-scrolling perspective, players explore platform environments while engaging in frenetic melee-style combat against fantastical creatures (e.g., skeletons, giant leeches, goblins). Players use punches, kicks, and gadgets (e.g., flame-thrower traps, grenades, arrow turrets) to kill enemies. Enemies emit large splatters of blood when injured/killed and sometimes break apart into bloody pieces; blood also stains the floors and walls of some areas. The word “sh*t” appears in the game.”

  1. Only two levels and two boss levels. But great castlevania soundtrack, visual, alucard and many new items. For 9 eur good deal :)
Run smooth on switch. Only bank level is still broken with map glitches.

  2. Shame about anyone who bought the physical prisoners edition. Now you’re gona need to buy it again to own the ultimate edition. Maybe this also means dlc for dead cells is finally wrapped up. Bet it’ll be expensive too, seriously good game, def one of my favourites
