The Japanese courts have decided Yuji Naka’s fate today due to the insider trading he embarked in with a colleague when he worked at Square Enix. Yuji Naka will be on a four year suspended sentence and if he breaks the terms of this he will then have to serve two years and six months in prison. Mr. Naka was also handed two fines of 2 million Yen and 170 million Yen.
Yuji Naka is on a 4 year suspended sentence

That means he will not spend a day in jail, pretty good verdict for him.
Another case of if you’re rich, you can avoid going to jail even when you’re proven guilty.
Not always true, but thing is a lot of the time the courts would rather you pay fines and not go to prison because it costs more to house you. This isn’t always the case and every case is different but that’s the general thing.
No. It’s not true dude. Rich, famous, famous gamer or streamer or not, you still go to prison for the crimes you committed if proven guilty. Using your fame or your greed as a excuse to get out of any crimes is just unethical. That won’t change the aspect of that logic.
I think you’re missing the point, it’s not so much that rich and famous people don’t go to prison. It’s more, if you’re not famous you have it so much worse.
Anyways this is Japan so I don’t think this applies as much as here
It applies to everybody.
This is Japan, not every country is prison hungry like the US. We have 20% of the world’s prison population vs 5% of the total population. Some places don’t find prison necessary for non-violent crimes
Exactly.
If you’re rich… use that get out of jail free card.
Same old BS in every country.
I dont see what he did as a big crime. And Carter wasnt as honorable as you think. None of them are.
I just mean, at least had “some” honor.
I agree more than you think I do with you.
About Carter I mean
Orange Monkey can be flung into the sun.
Captain Fall Down can be flung into the sun.
My concern for Naka now is, how on earth is he going to pay off such a hefty sum?
If he literally had much more than that to his name, it would be that simple. But I personally wouldn’t have that much money, neither would anyone in this comment section (minus obvious trolls).
Will he end up in debt (or whatever Japanese welfare is)?
