Hellboy: Web of Wyrd announcement

Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment and developer Upstream Arcade have unveiled the thrilling gameplay trailer for their upcoming roguelite action adventure game, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd. Created in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics and renowned creator Mike Mignola, the game promises an authentic Hellboy experience. Hellboy: Web of Wyrd takes players on a third-person roguelite action adventure, immersing them in a captivating original story. Drawing inspiration from the comics, the game invites players to join Hellboy on a series of unique and diverse adventures, all tied to the enigmatic legacy of The Butterfly House.

Hellboy: Web of Wyrd boasts an art style that pays homage to the distinctive visuals of the original comics, capturing the essence of the beloved source material. The gameplay features robust combat mechanics, combining intense melee and ranged attacks to overcome a wide array of nightmarish enemies. The narrative seamlessly weaves together various independent stories, providing a cohesive and immersive Hellboy experience. While a specific release date has yet to be announced, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

The narrative revolves around The Butterfly House, an eerie mansion constructed in 1962 by occultist Pasquale Deneveaux. This mysterious abode serves as a gateway to the otherworldly dimension known as The Wyrd. When an agent of the B.P.R.D. goes missing inside the mansion, it falls upon Hellboy and his team of Bureau agents to investigate and uncover the secrets hidden within its walls. Players will embark on a perilous journey through The Wyrd, encountering monstrous creatures, forgotten godforms, and powerful treasures across its fantastical realms. However, lurking in the deepest corners of The Wyrd lies ancient evil, eagerly awaiting its chance to be unleashed.
