Rumor: Capcom revealing major title later this year & Resident Evil 9 coming in 2025

The busiest time of the year for gaming news may be just a memory now, but that doesn’t mean that the rumor mill stops churning. Games are always being developed, so as long as that happens, there’s always a chance for a stray rumor or 2 to make an appearance, even when things are typically quiet this time of the year. For example, a rumor has surfaced related to Capcom’s future plans.

According to insider Dusk Golem, Capcom will be announcing a major title at the end of this year, which will be releasing in fall of 2024. After that, Resident Evil 9 will be releasing in 2025, and they speculate that it will probably be announced next year. Dusk Golem teases that they “might know every big Resident Evil game releasing up to the year 2029″. However, other than the Resident Evil 9 info, they didn’t say anything else specific related to the franchise.

  1. Is there any chance that it’s Revelation 3? We need an RE game that’s designed with the Switch in mind from the start ,like the first Revelation on 3DS.

  2. I think it could just be a new Monster Hunter Game, but would be a lovely surprise if they announced a new Megaman game.
For the Resident Evil 9 game, yeah I’m not surprised and I do hope they keep the First Person view because I’ve actually enjoyed RE7 and RE8: Village, but if they give people the option to swap to a Third Person Camera instead of locking it behind a pay wall, that’d be great

  3. how about just releasing resident evil 2 and 3 remakes as physical and not the awful cloud versions people hate so much? Monster hunter rise has proved the re engine is possible on the switch so there’s no excuse

    1. Well Monster Hunter Rise on Switch is built with a Switch specific RE engine not the standard one the main consoles use.
