The latest boxed-video game software charts are in for the largest video game market in Europe, the United Kingdom, for the week ending 12th August, 2023. There’s no change at the top of the charts for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which continues its reign at No.1 due to an influx of PlayStation 5 bundles and sales. Games Industry notes that Sony’s system is the most popular console this year with 47% of all home consoles sold this year in the UK. Here’s the charts for the week ending 12th August, 2023:
| Last Week | This Week | Title |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga |
| 2 | 2 | FIFA 23 |
| 3 | 3 | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe |
| 5 | 4 | The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom |
| 10 | 5 | Grand Theft Auto V |
| 4 | 6 | Hogwarts Legacy |
| 11 | 7 | Minecraft (Switch) |
| 9 | 8 | Pikmin 4 |
| 14 | 9 | Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate |
| 8 | 10 | Gran Turismo 7 |

The UK is really droppign the ball on Pikmin 4. Pretty sure in America and Japan it remains at #1 – atleast on the eshop.
I’m perplexed to the sudden surge of Skywalker Saga popularity. Did a recent patch fix the game or something?
