Nintendo revs up excitement with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass physical release

The Nintendo Switch has its fair share of classic games, but one title that continues to reign supreme is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. While not a new game by any means, it’s an enhanced version of Mario Kart 8, originally released on the Wii U. Despite its age, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains incredibly popular among Nintendo Switch players. As the Switch’s lifecycle progressed, some fans began to crave a new installment in the Mario Kart series. In response, Nintendo decided to introduce a booster course pass to keep fans engaged a bit longer. This pass included a series of new courses and character additions that were periodically released into the game. These courses often featured revamped versions of classic Mario Kart tracks from past installments, giving players a nostalgic thrill.

The booster course pass was initially a digital release, and it’s still active today. However, Nintendo has some exciting news for Mario Kart enthusiasts. They are planning to release a physical version of the booster course pass to retailers on October 6, 2023. This release precedes the launch of the final set of courses for the game. One notable aspect is that the physical release won’t include a physical game cartridge. Instead, players will find a download code voucher inside the box. This voucher will allow players to access and download the new courses directly to their game.

While the absence of a physical game may disappoint some, Nintendo is sweetening the deal with some extra goodies. The box set will include stickers, pin badges, and themed art cards, making it an attractive option for dedicated Mario Kart fans looking to expand their collection.

    1. They could literally charge 90$ for Mario Kart 8 and DLC again and they would probably still make another million in sales

      1. Lol wut, how can they call it a physical release and not include a physical cartridge. They cant say it with a serious face without a smirk on it.
        What the actual wuttt??

  1. This is basically an overglorified DLC card with a scratch off on the back you can buy at Wal-Mart, GameStop, or wherever you can buy games that comes with some extra goodies. Just buy that or use the eShop. Unless you REALLY want the extra stuff that comes with the card. (Probably cheaper just to buy the card or use the eShop.)

  2. I had to be a download code because your base game could be on a cartridge so it would be stupid to swap cartridges depending on track selection (presuming that’s even possible!). Calling it a physical release is the problem. We need a new term for this format because it’s probably part of the future when everything is downloaded. Getting bonus cards, pins or a booklet with the download code is the way to help retailers and satisfy gamers that want something tangible.

  3. We, as adults, simply wish for the same care and attention to be given to ages 4-9 as it was to ages 1-3. Why are they willing to allow harm to come to those children, you can also check the fortune of dragons and stars on LaCelebrite.
