Pokemon Scarlet & Violet updated to Version 2.0.2 (patch notes)

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games

Unfortunately, even though Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been available on the Nintendo Switch for quite a while now, the new generation of Pokemon games is still dealing with bug issues. It isn’t helping that Scarlet and Violet will be getting a second wave of DLC soon, which could add some more bugs into the game.

That said, a new update was released for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet tonight. Once you update, they should be at version 2.0.2. This update, fortunately, does focus on fixing some bugs. In fact, there’s even some bug fixes related to Pokemon HOME. You can see the patch notes in full down below.

Bug Fixes

  • Under certain conditions, victories against the NPC Trainers scattered across the game world may not have been recorded. As a result, the rewards players could earn by winning a certain number of battles — such as from Pokémon League representatives in the Paldea region or Ogre Clan members in the land of Kitakami — were not obtainable. This bug has been fixed, so players who experienced this issue can now challenge affected NPC Trainers again to record their victories and subsequently receive any eligible rewards.
  • It was not previously possible to transfer certain special Pokémon to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet via Pokémon HOME if those Pokémon were brought into Pokémon HOME from Pokémon GO, even if a Pokémon of the same species had already been obtained in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet prior to version 1.3.2. This bug has been fixed, and the issue has been resolved.
  • Other select bug fixes have been implemented.

    1. bug fixes def aint nothing, its nothing when its system stability. i know people always expect performance patches but these should not be every patch, gotta space them out.

  1. I have Pokemon Scarlet and Violet but im kinda holding off purchasing the additional content in hopes that they fix the base game. Oftentimes the game will hard lock on startup at the main menu and i can’t do anything except restart or Power Cycle my Nintendo Switch. Also on occasion the game will hard lock in certain towns and i can’t even control the main character, all i can do is open the menus but i can’t close the game application.

  2. I’m just wondering when pokemon will stop spawning inside cliff/cave walls. It’s annoying when an entire outbreak is confined behind a cliff wall.
