2nd F-Zero 99 content update released

You may recall that, yesterday, Nintendo announced that F-Zero 99 would be getting another brand new update tonight. You may also recall that, when the update was announced, Nintendo confirmed that the update would add another 3 courses and addition of the King League in Grand Prix mode.

Well, as Nintendo promised, the update has been released. Mute City III, Red Canyon II and Fire Field are the new arrivals to the various courses you can play on in the game. You can see Nintendo’s official announcement tweet confirming the update’s launch down below.

    For those of you who have never raced on Fire Field before, in the OG or 99… Be prepared. That track will test you on everything– energy management, boost usage, maneuverability, blast turning, maintaining top speed…

  2. So much I don’t know, I was a casual player of the OG back on the SNES. What’s “blast turning”? Can you describe the technique?

    1. Blast turning is when you go through a tight turn while tapping the accelerator button, which allows one to take a sharp corner without losing too much speed. Some machines are better at it than others (Fire Stingray appears to benefit the most from this technique as its cornering stat is already very high) but all of them can do it to various degrees.
