LEVEL-5 has produced a range of fantastic games, from the gorgeous Ni No Kuni, to the smash hit franchise Yo-Kai Watch, which was unstoppable at one point in The Land of the Rising Sun. The company is approaching its 25th anniversary, which begins tomorrow. To celebrate, they have opened a new celebratory website, which will play host to promotions, including 25 free commemorative illustration wallpapers and special merchandise giveaways. LEVEL-5 CEO, Akihiro Hino, also published a message on X, saying that they will announce release dates for their upcoming titles, such as Fantasy Life, DECAPolice, and Professor Layton, sometime in November. Mr. Hino also said that they will keep the 25th anniversary website updated.

  1. This developer is a lost cause, they refuse to port Yokai Watch 4 to the west after clearly advertising it in the west during the early switch life span, they abandoned the western market fir no reason… but decided to return to the western market out of nowhere, and now that they claim to have returned to the western market they advertised new games in the west and they produced nothing here in the west since.
This is one company that I honestly nolonger will support nor care about anymore and tbh if they went under in the future no one would really notice or care in the west because they are literally produced nothing here.

  2. Yokai Watch … the games bombed so bad in the West. The first game was one of the first to hit Five Below stores where it sat on shelves because it just wasn’t selling. Heck overall game sales were so bad they shut down their offices outside of Japan and had to regroup completely. I’m not surprised they never bothered with Yokai Watch 4. There’s just not a big enough market for it outside of Japan.

I’ll still buy the Layton games and am looking forward to Deca Police and Fantasy Life. I’m glad they survived.
