THQ Nordic says Biomutant on Switch has sold more copies than they expected

Biomutant received a surprise release by THQ Nordic on the Nintendo Switch and while it has various compromises to run on Nintendo’s now aging Switch hardware, it is still good fun. In a recent interview a Japanese THQ Nordic representative revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of Biomutant has sold a lot better than they were originally anticipating, which is great news. Here’s what was said:

“The game has also been mentioned in sales rankings at retailers. In light of this background, we asked a THQ Nordic Japan representative about the sales of the game and were told that they were very strong. The first shipments have already been made, and both the downloadable and packaged versions “are selling much better than expected, although I can’t give you specific numbers,” he said. However, the Nintendo Switch version has been selling well, in a good way.”

“Although it is possible that the original estimate was low, the fact that it is selling much faster than expected must be a surprise to the distributor. The postponement of the porting of the game suggests that it was a difficult process, but it is also a sign that new users are being developed as a result of such a challenge.”

  1. I got the game 3 years ago on my PS5 and just got it again for my switch. It isn’t as pretty on switch, but I absolutely prefer playing it on switch and am enjoying it more than I did on PS5.

  2. Played the game on PS5 and oftentimes the objective marker would bug out, I’d go to the location and either nothing was there or it appeared as if the objective was under the map like an off map exploit or something.
