Playtonic announces Yooka-Replaylee for Steam

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Playtonic and today they have announced that they have reworked the mixed indie game Yooka-Laylee and it’s named Yooka-Replaylee. The game has only been announced for Steam at present, but is likely to make its way to consoles at some point. Yooka-Replaylee improvements include a new camera, improved controls, ability tweaks, remixed and new challenges, and more.

We are very pleased to share with you one of the exciting things we’ve been working on! Yooka-Replaylee brings a whole host of improvements to make this the definitive way to (re)play(lee), including a new camera, improved controls, ability tweaks, remixed and new challenges, modernised visuals and more! And make sure you stick around to the end of the video to see a new addition to the sales team!

  1. I don’t know what it is but this game was ok/good. I feel that Hat in Time was the better game even though this was made by ex Rare employees

  2. backed the game and …. well it was quite disappointing and unpolished. I wish they’d enable backers of the original game to get this one as well to make up for the state it was. It really felt like someone tried to build some wannabe Banjo Kazooie game in unity. Not like the original team did it except maybe its presentation as the characterdesigns and general worlddesign was pretty sweet. But controls, puzzles, fighting mechanics, leveldesign left too much to be desired and especially beyond world 1 it felt like they didn’t really know what to do with the game and tried to throw randomly as many things as possible together.

  3. No Man’s Sky improved vastly after it’s initial, underwhelming release. Cyberpunk 2077 also got better after it’s initial, bad release. Hopefully this is the 3rd game to turn itself around.
