The official Japanese Sonic x Shadow Generations website has teased that a new character might be playable in the upcoming game. The site features a look at the playable characters in Sonic x Shadow Generations, which naturally include Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, Shadow and also a mysterious undisclosed character. I’m guessing this might have something to do with Maria being playable again?
Perhaps a classic style Shadow? I mean I’m just guessing and he never had a classic design before now. But to give him one would fit the main game if classic style Shadow gets the 2D iterations of his stages.
I’m gonna have to be that one nerd and say, no that would be very bad.
To keep it brief, it’s more than just “Shadow never had a classic before now”; adding a Classic Shadow breaks the canon of the franchise.
Shadow always existed as he appears in the modern games. He literally was stuck within his capsule for 50 years or so.
Sonic Generations is fully canon and adding something to that story that breaks the canon would be a problem. I’d honestly prefer they Shadow’s prototype design it’s own character before they even consider making “classic” Shadow
They already confirmed Classic Shadow won’t be a thing, and Shadow’s stages will have 2D moments as well.
I get where you are going with this but there is no such thing as classic shadow, Shadow wasn’t born he was made so he wouldn’t be small and grow big he was made big already according to SA2

I don’t know why, but I thought of the Trails series reading this😹
My guess is a Shadow Android, from the Shadow the Hedgehog game. Not sure of the story relevance, but at least it wouldn’t break continuity more than the plot of Generations already does.
I know this is asking a lot, but I would absolutely LOVE for Rouge or Omega (or both) to be playable: also, Happy Independence Day everyone🇺🇸

It Might Be Silver like a Trucks situation. He need more shine in games and an actual playable game.
No I don’t believe it is another Shadow as the forth character as I think that it is Silver as it would make sense because Generations is all about time travel and Silver is a time traveler who tries to protect the future from his enemies and his arch enemy is Mephiles the dark as I believe the new game is going to future all of the Hedgehogs against the time eater and Mephiles maybe even Solaris the sun god himself will appear in it.
Silver, Metal Sonic or Super Shadow.
