Mark your calendars and ready your men because Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will make history on Nintendo Switch and other platforms on February 11, 2025.
Unveiled earlier this year during Summer Game Fest, Civilization VII became one of the highlights of the ongoing 2024 Gamescom event as it announced a definitive release date and showed off a gameplay reveal trailer- along with more details on what it has to offer.
Of note is a new, series-first addition to Civilization VII- the ability to mix and match leaders and civilizations to rewrite history. No longer are leaders chained to their nations; civilizations can now be guided by those from foreign lands.
Firaxis and 2K Games also recently announced the identity of the new narrator- the one and only Gwendoline Christie, of Game of Thrones fame.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will be available for purchase in a Standard, Deluxe, and Founders edition. The Nintendo Switch eShop has the Standard at $59.99, Deluxe at $89.99, and the Founders Edition at $119.99.
Pre-orders for the Standard Edition will come with the Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack, which is already included in the Deluxe and Founders editions.

- Right to Rule Collection, with post-launch content featuring 2 new leaders, 4 new civilizations, 4 new wonders, a special cosmetic bonus, and more!

- 4 profile customizations
- 1 alternate scout skin

What I wouldn’t give to have an Age of Empires game on the switch. But I think that’s resource heavy, even for PC’s.
