Hironobu Sakaguchi, widely known as the creator behind the adored Final Fantasy series of games, has said in a new interview that he is fully aware that he cheated on Nintendo with PlayStation back when the original PlayStation launched. Sakaguchi famously snubbed Nintendo’s latest console at the time the Nintendo 64 and revealed that Final Fantasy VII would be a PlayStation exclusive. The game sold a massive amount of copies around the world and helped make the PlayStation brand a major competitor to Nintendo and SEGA,
“I look back at my career and I really got a huge part of my start from the NES and Nintendo. So, without the NES, I would say none of any of this would have been possible, but then, you know, I cheated on Nintendo and went to PlayStation, but whether it was Nintendo or Sony, I think both of those companies in addition to Final Fantasy VI kind of represent a lot of my origin story in terms of my career development.”

Can’t Nintendo sue him?

One of the things that I wanted to see was that FF7 Demake come to fruition. Sadly I think it stopped a while a go. I do however think that had this game came to N64 it would’ve been neutured completely to be able to run, not to mention the amount of cartridges.
Its true
There is a early n64 trailer of ff7 before they switched to PlayStation. Look it up. They could have never done what the did with fmv and the like on n64. They needed the rom space.

Well, to be fair, Nintendo were asshole control freaks to 3rd parties back then, so they got what they deserved. Treat people like crap & they’ll stab you in the back eventually. Like Grima did to Saruman.
