The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie has been a big hit with fans and movie goers and has become the highest rated video game adaptation movie on Rotten Tomatoes. IGN recent caught up with the movie’s co-writers, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, and put to them the all-important question, which video game project would they love to adapt? The two opted to chose the vibrant GameCube hit, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
“I think another easy one I think we can answer because the movie’s already happening and we’re already not doing it would be a Zelda. I remember always when we played Wind Waker, we were always like, man, I mean, it would probably be weird if they made a Zelda movie to start with Wind Waker versus the more classic Hyrule. But we both loved Wind Waker and it’s so cinematic. Yeah. So after they make this Zelda movie, I guess we’re putting it out there in the world, maybe we can do a Wind Waker spin-off.”

Ugh a Wind Waker movie would be phenomenal
But in a strange way, it almost feels like it would lend itself better to an episodic series in the artstyle. But, well, I could kind of see it as a film, as well. It’d be a bit hard to capture the sense of exploration, however.
In a weird way, I’d imagine the action setpieces would be similar in feel to something like Kubo and the Two Strings
It’s a nice idea for the future but you can’t start there. Let us get one movie with a traditional Hyrule first.
Bin playin it resently. wood b gud
I honestly want studio ghibli to do a twilight princess movie
WW is my #1 favorite LoZelda game, so I’m game!
Sonic 3 was great, so I’d definitely trust these writers with a Zelda project.
