Games Radar has published an informative interview with the one and only Japanese video game creator Suda51. The interview touches on a number of subjects revolving around game development including completely trusting his team to deliver on his or their vision when he starts work on a new project. In a more lighthearted part of the interview, Suda51 is asked which game he has enjoyed the most this year and his pick is none other than Princess Zelda’s fun escapades in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Here’s what he had to say about the game:
“Not that this game needs a shout-out from me or anything, but the game I probably played and dug the most this year was The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” he shares. “I doubt anyone needs me to recommend this title to them, but… Anyway, I felt it was significantly different from a lot of the other bigger Zelda titles, a bit more cartoonish and closer to the older games in the series, but once you get into it, it really hooks you in. I really loved the world it was set in and all the various details, and again, it just left me feeling like ‘I got to experience Zelda all over again.'”
Mine too
I’m so confused as to why some people (or possibly the same person commenting under different aliases) are suddenly using the term “ponies” to insult Nintendo fans on this site.
I thought “ponies” was meant to be a derogatory term towards PlayStation fans (calling them “Sony ponies” and the like)?
Am I missing something or are we just having yet another wave of very low intelligence trolls infesting this site?
It’s been like this for years, from time to time. That is, that we get annoying comments that serve no good purpose.
It’s especially recurrent right now. I hope something can be done about it, because such comments make me lose interest in reading the comment section on this site.
Some people are just really obsessed with horses.
Honestly I don’t know why they would call Nintendo fanboys/girls ponies when Nintendrones exist. Ponies is Sony and Xbots is Microsoft. That being said, neat to see what Suda51 considers his personal GotY.
It was very thoughtful of Suda51 to choose The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom as Game of the Year 2024, a great compliment to the creativity and appeal of this game!”
Suda51 picking Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom as his GOTY is so cool! Sounds like a really fun and refreshing Zelda experience, especially with the retro vibes. Gotta check it out!
Suda51 has impeccable taste—I mean, who doesn’t love a good romp in Hyrule? If I had a penny for every time I got hooked by a cartoonish Zelda game, I’d be, well… rich enough to buy all the amiibos.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom being his Game of the Year? Bold move, Cotton. But hey, if we wanted the same old formula, we’d just replay Ocarina of Time for the hundredth time, am I right?
Reminds me of those late-night gaming sessions where you just lose track of time. “What time is it? Oh, 3 AM? I guess I’ll just call in sick tomorrow—thanks, Zelda!”
Visually, Chicken Road https://chickenroadmasters.com/ delights with colorful, cartoonish graphics that contrast nicely with the tension of gameplay. The cheerful music softens the challenge, making failure less bitter and progress more rewarding. While repetition sets in after long sessions, the thrill of chasing high scores ensures strong replayability.
Suda51 picking Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom as his GOTY is super interesting! It’s cool to see creators appreciate different kinds of games. Speaking of games that surprise you with their fun, have you ever tried royaledle? It’s a surprisingly addictive little puzzle game.
Suda51’s take on Zelda feels like one of those unexpected plot twists in a game, right? I mean, who would’ve thought he’d vibe so hard with a game that’s more cartoonish?! It’s like eating fancy sushi and suddenly craving a good ol’ slice of pizza–both are awesome in their own way! 😂
The charm of this game is hard to explain — you just have to play it yourself.
