Japanese video game news site Famitsu has interview a number of video game designers to ask them what they are most excited about in 2025. One of those interviewed is Square Enix producer, Akitoshi Kawazu, who said he’s immensely excited for the successor to the Nintendo Switch, both from the perspective of a consumer and as a video game producer.
“The successor to the Nintendo Switch that Nintendo will announce in 2025 and the corresponding market strategy that Nintendo will develop. I’m looking forward to it as both a user and a creator.”

Hopefully that means they’ll start actually putting big budget games on it…. They’ve but 2d smaller ones on the switch neir was an old port but they’ve skipped the switch with its heavy hitters
To be fair, they haven’t had a good heavy hitter since FF13. Pretty much every “heavy hitter” they’ve released outside of Switch has factually sucked.

Square Enix mouth pieces always spew this same old nonsense, but when it’s time to show up they only show up with old games.
These clowns still haven’t ported the Dragon Quest Heroes 1&2 collection to the west even after fans asked them to.
