Pyoro claims there’s 27 new Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Notorious Nintendo leaker Pyoro can’t stop spilling the beans and the latest franchise he’s targeted is the Pokemon series. In a post on social network X, Pyoro hinted that the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A, which is due out later this year, will feature 27 new Mega Evolutions, though refrained from saying which. The latest news and information on Pokemon Legends Z-A was shared during Pokemon Day last month and the game is expected to release late 2025.

      1. That’s the internet for you. When you think there’s an opinion everyone can universally agree on, there will always be someone who disagrees,

      2. Of course I’m serious. Why would I want a feature implemented that requires me to “evolve” a Pokemon every time it goes into battle? Do you know how much time that wastes? Just make them new evolutions.

      3. He is not the only one who hates megas. There r many of us, purists, who prefer cross-evos. Pokemon like Mawile, Sablye, Medicham, Camerupt or Absol should recieve just regular evolutions, but they closed their lines with that gimmick. Thats why I always refuse to use megas in any Pokemon games, I pretend this mechanic does not exist. Every game that revives this mechanic is a nightmare as it means the next pokemon roster will be forced ro stagnate.

    1. Mega Evolutions were the only good transformation. The Evolutions were all clever instead of just making them bigger or putting a dumb hat on their head. It was also the only one that added to the strategy of the game rather than detracting from it.

    2. On one hand, I feel mixed about Mega Evolutions and how potential evolution lines are cut off by them (Audino, Sableye, Mawile, etc.). One the other hand, I hate how they may be the ONLY new additions to the dex.

As for playing through the game, …..well Tepig is a Pokemon I haven’t done a full campaign/additional team around, so that’s one justification for a full playthrough (worst-case scenario we simply get Mega Emboar and not Kalosian Emboar/new evo).

    3. Me too. They’re canonically abusive. The reason “mega” evolutions aren’t permanent is because the longer and more often they “mega evolve” the more stress it puts on their bodies. I hate it so, so much. It’s just evil. It’s the most evil thing in pokemon, and nobody seems to care

      1. you know they only reason they added that flavor text is because they wanted everyone to like the NEW gimmick of z moves while not bothering them for new megas in every game.

  1. I freaking hope so! to me mega evolutions was the peak “gimmick” they have released thus far. It felt unexplored and all subsequent gimmicks felt rushed and incomplete.

  2. Wake me when there’s news of new evolutions and regional variants. THOSE are the ones that I’ll plan my team around. THOSE are the ones that will make me buy the game. Not 27 more in-battle temps tied to a gimmick (that was already erased once) dependent on hold items you can’t even transfer to other games, or a dumping box for Watchog and Furfrou (and maybe the monkeys, Alolan Raticate, and a non-broken Spinda).

  3. I’m super excited about these 27 new Mega Evolutions! Mega Evolution was always my favorite battle mechanic, and I’ve been waiting for its proper comeback. I’ve been using Poly-Track to keep a detailed log of which Pokemon I want to use in my team when Z-A releases. Really hoping we’ll see Mega Flygon finally happen – that’s been on my wishlist forever! The Kalos setting is perfect for bringing Megas back in a big way.

  4. I actually think Tera’s are the ones that add the most depth in terms of gameplay functionality. You have to completely rethink the way that you battle when a pokemon can transform into literally any type. Megas generally just made a pokemon even stronger – that’s as much depth it’s just power scaling

Although I do agree that in terms of DESIGN Megas are the best. Not just a new move, or getting big, or wearing a shiny hat, full re-designs.
