Games industry journalist Christopher Dring has revealed that the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 has sold out in minutes at various online and brick and mortar retailers in the United Kingdom. All of the major stores have now sold out of pre-orders and it is not clear whether more stock is expected in before the official release dater of 5th June.

But, I haven’t even bothered pre ordering one, it’s not like there’s a great deal of goodness for the system. I’m not all that bothered about mario kart, donkey kong, any of the switch 2 upgrades, kirby, zelda, or the gamecube games.
The only games that have any appeal are metroid prime 4 and pokemon legends za and they didn’t even have release dates.
The only gamecube game I would like to play is wario world, and that wasn’t even a reveal.
Yoshi’s wolly world got snubbed, but should have been in the switch 1 direct 😂 but happy it’s coming to switch 2.
Twilight princess also got snubbed, but it may come in a few years.
Wind waker HD has been flushed, but maybe they will bring 4k version of it later.
They did that with links awakening, having a virtual console version and a new version on the same system. With the new one being supremely better.

Also where is metroid prime 2 and 3, hopefully getting 4k treatment 😁 I’d hope for the same from Mario galaxy 2 as well.
It may be Mario’s 40th this year, but also Studio Ghibli’s too. I can only hope the two collaborate eventually on the movie side. 😉

Doesn’t mean much. Its momentum is more important. Console sell a lot first week all the time.

It still won’t outsell the original Switch, but I’m sure it will easily cross 100m++ in 5-6 years time.
Agree, maybe we are all mad about the price but PS3 was very expensive and they sold 90+ millions, Switch 2 will drop the price on 2027 or something and they will cross the 100m.

I have had my switch since day 1. And it does great. But it will be time for an upgrade soon.
Well, I havnt pre ordered coz Nintendo sent me an email which says im guaranteed a pre order when they send the next email, coz of my online membership and status etc, I hope this is still the case.

I’ve gotten that email too. I’m keeping an eye on some other sites to pre-order on just in case the next email doesn’t arrive for whatever reason, but if it does I’m just gonna pre-order directly from Nintendo.
Only thing to watch out for it that it says that you need to have an active Switch Online membership on the day of pre-ordering, so as long as yours doesn’t expire before then you should be good.
You guys from Europe region or something cause NOA hasn’t given us any updates on the site about preorders aside from saying wait till May 8th.
Pre orders for uk and Europe start on 8th on Nintendo store, not sure about America as it’s all up in the air over there with the tariffs

It doesn’t mean anything, anyone remembers when the pre orders for the 3ds and wii u were available they claimed the same?
This is no way near the Wii U level doom and gloom no matter how you slice it. Not even close. It’s a better Switch and the naming and marketing is clear, unlike Wii U.
I don’t think so, as those were taken down or made into “Invite Orders”, the Pre-Orders weren’t genuine
