IGN shows off just how strong the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con magnets are

The Joy-Cons on the Nintendo Switch 2 are no joke when it comes to stability as proved by the folks at IGN who put the new magnetic Joy-Cons to the ultimate test by dangling the Nintendo Switch 2 unit with a few fingers attached and then shaking the device. Thankfully, the system survives such a strenuous test, which is great news. See just how strong those magnets are attaching the Joy-Con to the Switch 2 system in the video down below.

    On the other hand, in 400 years, the magnets will no longer magnetize anything, we have time!

  2. I love how dumb the Internet is. Once someone runs with something, the mass herd repeats the same thing.

    Today’s topic is, how magnets demagnetize over time and how it won’t take long before the magnets on the controllers are going to weaken rather quickly 😂

    1. I mean, do you trust Nintendo after the joycon drift? I think it’s ok that people are skeptical about the new joycons

      1. If the new joycons were the same price, then I would be worried. I’m sure the price increase is to offset the cost.

        But could you imagine the insane backlash if after 1 or 2 years the magnets were demagnetize because Nintendo opted to used to use cheap metal?

        I’ma sure they could get away with it, if they somehow found out how to remagnetized them while they were charging. But magnetizing by induction could be dangerous if not done correctly. Again, if anyone could get away with it, or figure it out, it would be Nintendo. 🤷 But we won’t know until someone opens them up to see these magnets.

    2. It takes hundreds of years for a magnet to demagnetize… and it doesn’t need any use…

      So when you don’t know anything, you keep quiet

        for a magnet to go to about 0 magnatisim takes around 200,000 to 1,000,000 years (discounting high heat scnarios), becauase they lose 1% to 5% strength per 100 years.

  3. Ya wat the y dont show is that its not magnets alone holding it in place. Theres a release button for a reason.
