Nintendo “will continue to bring new titles for the over 100 million people worldwide who are playing Switch”

With the Nintendo Switch 2 release just four weeks away many are eyeing Nintendo’s next console, but what about the original Nintendo Switch, which has a massive user base? Well, Nintendo says it will continue to support the platform going forward with new titles. Video game companies usually say this when they have a new console on the horizon, but then again, both Sony and Microsoft supported their previous systems, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, for quite some time with their cross-gen strategies which have finally come to an end.

    1. I would not be upset if this is a similar situation to where PS4 Titles are still being published.

      1. Yes and SEGA confirmed that the previous next gen consoles will still be supported for their games and they will continue to system those systems. Xbox One games is still being published from third party developers.

    1. Well, you’re probably not wrong about that. However, neither of those are Nintendo properties- this is about a statement from Nintendo regarding their own, so like Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, etc.

Unless Nintendo are the ones publishing Just Dance, I’m not sure of that. I do know Ubisoft is the developer though.

      1. To your point, the 3ds had a TON of games after the switch. They were mostly all remasters and ports, but Nintendo definitely did deliver. I was just thinking about the Wii that had almost 10 years of just dance after the Wii U and even switch were out lol just dance 2020 being the final game on the Wii.

    1. Considering they were releasing first party 3DS games 2 years after the Switch was out, we’ll probably see the same or perhaps longer because of the backwards compatibility and huge install base.
