Japan: Analysts say Nintendo Switch 2 could be difficult to purchase until Spring 2026

Japanese news site The Nikkei is reporting that analysts aren not expecting the Nintendo Switch 2 to become easy to purchase until at least the spring of next year. Demand for Nintendo’s latest hardware remains especially high in the Land of the Rising Sun and analysts aren’t expecting the stock situation to get much better in the foreseeable future. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa says that the company is in the process of “working to strengthen our production system so that we can flexibly respond to demand.”

    1. Did you read the article and did you understand it? Based on your comment, I highly doubt it. 🤦‍♂️

I think you should’ve read the article a price drop isn’t confirmed yet do your research

    3. Here in the UK I’ve noticed various online retailers have been getting more stock of Switch 2.
My Wife nicely decided to get one as a present for us both as we’ve been having some tough times lately and it was a lovely pickmeup.

Amazon UK had the MKW Bundle in stock for about 2 days, before that Very had them as a bigger bundle with an SD Card, Pro Controller, saving a few quid overall.
I think now the launch rush is over, for the next few months it may be a bit easier to get one.

Obviously the Autumn Holidays will make it more difficult, scalpers seem to have taken a hit thankfully, otherwise the system would have sold out in a few minutes.

Retailers should allow buyers to place their interest, then have a queue of people in a line, rather than just selling stock as they get it.
Make it so that you can only buy one per email address/account in the first year and you have to place the order and pay within a day of your system being offered to you.
That way people won’t get so disheartened waiting and missing out when stock finally becomes available to buy.

I’m so happy we finally have ours, it’s a huge upgrade over the original and OLED models.
Looks great on our 65 inch Philips OLED707 and on the tablet’s screen.

BoTW and ToTK are transformed with the patch, same is true of Mario Odyssey.

MKW is a load of fun, looks great and plays so well, same goes for Fast Fusion.

I can’t for DK Bonanza and Metroid Prime 4.

    4. Got mine at Bestbuy a few days walked in, not expecting one, seeing if they had a display, and they had an un opened one come back, so I picked it up, tested it, all good, lucked out.

  1. For what it’s worth, stock levels for the console have been fine in the UK. Steady stream of stock updates every couple of weeks.
I’ve found accessories like the pro controller and carry case to be a little trickier to find.

    1. In Eastern U.S.A., not only is stock fine, but I see them being sold online daily by people. Not sure why they’re selling them, but there’s quite a lot of them. I’m personally not interested in switch consoles.

If your not personally not interested in switch consoles then why are you commenting on a switch 2 related article?

      2. The market is been flooded with people who ordered just to resale because they thought stock would be hard to get hold of so drive up the price online like the ps5 and Xbox series X did and unit that have been blocked by Nintendo for using flash cartridges Like MiG switch

      3. I did not get to preorder mine. I by chance stopped at a Walmart the day it was released and got mine. They had like 6 in stock at 5 pm or so when I got mine.

  2. I did not even pre order. On launch day, I called my local Walmart and the girl in electronics told me she had plenty and no one was there to get them. I ran up there and bought the bundle. So easy and did not have to fight with anyone to get it. The last month has been all playing Switch 2 with Mario Kart World and Fantasy Life i.

  3. People keep saying you can get a Switch anywhere. I can say that in Seattle Metro, DC Metro, NY Metro and SF Bay Area, four areas I’m in regularly, it’s been absolutely impossible after the initial wave. They come in occasionally and are gone in an hour, either to scalpers or people who got lucky.

There is NOWHERE in these highly populated regions you can just “walk in and casually get one”, so no, stock ISNT good (hence the actual statement from Nintendo)
