Masahiro Sakurai has taken to X to celebrate Sora Co., Ltd. is celebrating its 20th anniversary and he also gave a small update on the upcoming Kirby Air Riders. Sakurai says that he hopes to share some gameplay footage of the long-awaited Kirby Air Riders soon. How soon remains to be seen, but it’s likely to be showcased during a Nintendo Direct presentation. Kirby Air Riders is due to release this year on the Nintendo Switch 2. Here’s a rough translation of what Sakurai had to say:
It doesn’t matter to most people, but today, Sora Co., Ltd. is celebrating its 20th anniversary. …That’s a long time! Thank you for your continued support. The new game *Kirby Air Rider* hasn’t even shown gameplay footage yet, but I think we’ll be able to share some information soon. Please wait!
Thanks to Greatsong1 for sending in the news tip!

= Nintendo Direct soon?
Nintendo is going to bury metroid prime 4 marketing just to favor Sakurai and his game, I have that weird feeling.
If there is a general September Nintendo Direct, it will most likely be the one to give specific release dates for the 2025 games. If not, then maybe it will be posted on X, which happens sometimes.
Sometimes I forget actual children are Nintendo fans
Highly doubtful. At the moment, Switch 2 isn’t swimming in releases.
Its mainly upgrades or games that have been have already been on the market for a while.
No don’t blame Sakurai he met deadlines and his game is coming sooner. Unlike Metroid Prime 4 which has been a mess I blame Nintendo for that not Sakurai. Keep asking where is Metroid Prime 4?
We’ll get a general Nintendo Direct in the first half of September, I expect. Maybe even towards the end of August. Lots of things to show and give dates for. Could be a good one!
Probably a new Nintendo Direct will be coming.
That’s great where is Metroid Prime 4? Not asking Sakurai asking Nintendo where is it? Game been in development what over 10 years? Still hoping for Project Watari. Sadly we have to wait possibly for September and even then that’s no guarantee Nintendo is acting like Sony with PS5 waiting last minute for reveals and dates.
