Europe: Pokemon Legends: Z-A was No.1 but is weakest mainline Pokemon launch since Let’s GO

The latest software sales charts are through for Europe and Pokemon Legends Z-A was the No.1 video game knocking EA’s Battlefield 6 to No.2. However, it’s not all good news as according to Games Business journalist Christopher Dring Pokemon Legends Z-A was the weakest mainline Pokemon video game launch since Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu. The Pokemon Let’s GO games launched exclusively on the Nintendo Switch back in 2018. It should be noted that digital sales are not included.

  1. I mean, it’s not a mainline Pokémon release so…

The only similar scale spin-off that released since Let’s Go was Legends Arceus so all this is really saying is that it sold less than that (physical only). No one would expect it to outsell Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet.

  2. Hopefully these games start to sell less and less so that Gamefreak actually invests more into this franchise. We get the same slop every time.
