Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem is hunkering down on his claim that Resident Evil: Code Veronica is the next Resident Evil game to get the remake treatment and he claims that the announcement for the remake will take place sometime this year. There have been reports that Resident Evil 5 Remake is set to be announced, but Dusk Golem says that that won’t be this year. Capcom is focussed on Resident Evil: Requiem at present and the only announcement will be for Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Dusk Golem sounds like an Alolan variant of Golem that should have been instead of it’s current Alolan form. Back to the subject: we will see when this happens cuz “insiders” claim to have knowledge but end up wrong 80% of the time.
He has been wrong he was right on some Resident Evil stuff and was wrong on a lot of Silent Hill stuff normally going away for years at a time.
This guy said Castlevania was getting a new game from From Software and Igarashi and Sony licensed Castlevania, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear from Konami. Was not true.
I know that there’s a lot of people who feel that another remake of RE1 isn’t needed. However, the pattern of how all the remakes seem to be following, seems to suggest that all of the newer games are using the same game engine seen in the RE2, RE3, and RE4 remakes. Yes, the ‘original’ RE1, RE2, RE3, and ‘Code: Veronica X’ were unique, they were also frustrating. Yes, the first remake of RE1 (GameCube) looked and sounded far better than the original, the whole “you’re stationary while the moves through the scene”, particularly while walking down a long hallway, I didn’t really like. You had to wait for the camera to catch up with the character you were playing didn’t help, especially at the end of a long hallway, when there’s a zombie waiting around the corner, and you can’t react to the attack, until the camera catches up with Chris/Jill. If you’re playing at a hard level, having this happen means you’ll end up dying, and then, end up starting back where you saved the game, losing a of progress in the process.
Overall, I feel strongly about the need for the remakes of RE1 and REZero need to happen next. ‘Then’, focus on remaking RE5 to RE8. Thank you.

It’s the easiest game in whole franchise. The boss are notoriously easy. The tyrant plane is only difficult if you don’t have B.O.W gas rounds. If you do, takes less than 2 mins.
Ir took me WEEKS (and several destroyed controllers) to figure out NOT to fight one of the bosses and only after I accidentally ran out of the room and it went into a cinema did I figure it out. Best RE game ever imho. Cant WAIT the remake!

Code Veronica is the Actual Resident Evil 3. The Resident Evil 3 we got on PlayStation was made due to a deal that Capcom made with Sony to have Numbered Entries on PlayStation.

RE Code Veronica is the direct sequel to Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil: Nemesis was later added the 3 because the numbered games were going to stay on the playstation. Of course they went back on their word because nintendo wanted RE exclusively on the GameCube. When the GameCube tanked Capcom went back on their word again. They did the same thing to Sega with the Dreamcast. Capcom was just trying to please everyone, they knew they had a hit franchise and it revitalized the company.
Negative. Code Veronica was the original RE3, but Capcom owed Sony an exclusive. They knew they couldn’t give a numbered game to Sony, so it was renamed, and to finish 3 quicker, they set the game in Raccoon City so they could reuse RE2 maps. Otherwise, we never would have gotten that game.

Give us a remake of the RE 1 Remake for GameCube with modern controls and third person view and no more ribbons for saving.
So you want something that is NOT RE1. No claustrophobic feeling and without the camera angles would kill it.

Since RE9 has ties to RE : Outbreak Files 1 & 2 it would make more sense to remake both of them and finally give the online section a proper build
