Sanzaru Games, the developer behind Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal on Nintendo 3DS and Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice on Nintendo 3DS, has now been shut down by Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp company, Meta. The team at Sanzaru Games, were working on VR games for Meta and joined Armature Studio and Twisted Pixel, who were also unfortunately shuttered. The big tech company said the following:
“We said last month that we were shifting some of our investment from Metaverse toward Wearables. This is part of that effort, and we plan to reinvest the savings to support the growth of wearables this year.”

Or Knuckles being in a relationship with his cousin then having a kid with her. Sonic writers even if not fans here in the west are just weird and should be on a watch list.

Sonic game like Mario Odyssey would be interesting open world Flash like mechanics where you can run ip buildings and Madonna back. Or a RGG Sonic game with Elise back.

The IDW stuff is awful too at least Archie had narrative and interesting stories IDW is trash just bad. Surge, Kitt, Tangke and Whisper the lesbians it’s just bad. Ian had editors at Archie tell him what to do when that went away PGW he got worse and then IDW he got full control not just comics the brand too. Sega lost a ton the Yakuza guys and Atlus guys because of the westerners like Aaron and Ian.

If the character that considers them their favorite that they liked or inspirated by it then its no problem or big deal honestly. For example, Ice king from Adventure Time wanted to bring Fionna and Cake to life which is his goal and dream, but now it has became a reality and his vow has been fulfilled which he kept his word.

Numerous studios need to make money somehow and selling is the only option. Now they can’t even sell not enough people to buy them. China is not as interested, Microsoft may only want big publishers, and I think the Saudi’s will go after more Japanese publishers in the future they’ve said they’ll expand there. Meta also owned Ready At Dawn who made the Jak game also closed now, they bought Armature a studio founded by the original founder of Retro and director of the old Metroid Prime games they were also part of this wave of closings, Twisted Pixel who Microsoft used to own got bought by Meta and now also part of this wave of closures. Things have not been paying off and the gaming bubble for companies and investors is not there anymore at least for starting from the ground up Meta and Amazon are examples of that. It’s weird to me Sony never bought them and now they may not pursue acquisitions too because Jim Ryan went on a buying spree now most of those studios he bought are closed and he spent billions on Bungie and that has not paid off same with Jade Raymond and other live service projects or wasting money on Kojima.

You forgot the venture capitalist firms they normally buy this stuff too and other things to hold onto then sell or normally just destroy funded by anyone with a job and a 401k using your money for their nonsense and if they were to come close to collapse both political parties have said they would built them out with your tax payer money. Sony will cancel more games watch Fairgames for sure is canceled and Haven studios probably closing soon. Saros will flop and Returnal flopped before it why waste even more money on another game like the last one from the same studio but more expensive? All said and done I think PS6 will be their last console and they sell off PlayStation to Tencent they won’t make consoles and then sell Sony Pictures off. Anime has been Sony’s big thing right now and the music division does ok but PlayStation they have high expectations it doesn’t seem to be meeting I mean Jim Ryan promised them PS5 would sell double the PS4 in half the time that is not happening and he got Shawn Layden fired for wanting to focus on more AA first party to have more consistent releases telling Sony it would deteriorate the brand so he could snag Shawn’s job. Sony Pictures outside Spider-man and some other select titles normally put out flops so I can see them selling that off finally and buyers want the library they have little IP.
Sucker Punch games were better I would rather just let the franchise die over what Sony would do to it now, the studios are not the same so many have left and it’s too late now if they did it would be a $80-100 game for a $800-1000 PS6 with no disc drive all digital.

The original studio who made the first 2 games is still open Big Red Button founded by former Crash bandicoot creator. Bob Rafei, I say give that man a team at Activision Vicarious Visions to bring back Crash and Spyro, his canceled project Crash N Burn looked cool.
