Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 & 2 remasters apparently started development in 2019

More information on the currently unannounced Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 ports have been revealed on X. The news was uncovered by a data miner and suggests that these are remasters, rather than remakes. The new versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which recently appeared on the backend of PSN, apparently started development back in 2019.

Details on Call of Duty Black Ops 1 + 2 ports:

  • New languages NOT in the OG
  • REMASTER_TYPE flag, odd for a port
  • PS5-enhanced flags → improvements expected
  • Internal date: August 2019

  • Indonesian
  • Thai
  • Vietnamese
  • Simplified Chinese
  • Norwegian
  • Czech
  • Danish

  1. Activision has other games that need remakes True Crime NYC, Protoype, Tony Hawk Underground 1+2, just to name a few.
