Dusk Golem claims there’s no real desire at Capcom to remake Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem has claimed that there’s no desire internally at Capcom for a Resident Evil 5 remake. While the leaker says that he believes Resident Evil 5 remake will come about one day, there are other projects that the team at Capcom want to tackle first. He said that there’s more internal interest to remake Resident Evil Revelations, than Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6 “which at present no one really wants to take on.”

“This isn’t true from what I’ve heard. While I think a Resident Evil 5 Remake will probably happen in the future due to fan demand, at present I’ve heard there’s not a strong desire within the company to remake RE5 presently, there’s other projects the team wants to do more.”

“It’s easy to say at this point, “Oh they’ll remake everything,” but to my knowledge that’s not what’s happening. There was desire from the teams to remake RE:2 & RE:4, fan imitative/feedback & interest from some key people lead to Veronica, Zero, & RE:1 happening.”

“They’ve brought up other things to remake, but from what I’ve heard there’s more internal interest to remake Revelations 1 than RE5 or RE6, which at present no one really wants to take on. Again, I suspect RE5 will happen someday due to fan demand, but there is no drive to do it.”

  1. 5 was the worst one, IMO. It wasn’t scary, so if they do remake it, they should call it “The Box of Kittens Edition.” It was just an action shooter.

  2. Resident Evil 5 on Steam has been broken forever and Crapcom never fixed it. Theres a major boss battle where the main way to defeat it is with a flamethrower but on Steam the flamethrower is bugged and doesn’t trigger the damage phase making the only way to defeat the boss is if you found a rocket launcher on a previous level. If you didn’t, you get locked out of progressing and beating the game.
