Nintendo says Nintendo Classics feeds a “sense of nostalgia” that we would like to continue

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has talked a little about the handy Nintendo Classics range which is readily available for anyone subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online service. He firmly believes that the classic games from the past provide gamers with a “sense of nostalgia” while allowing them to become familiar with games which Nintendo has produced in the past. Furukawa said that they will be continuing the service and exploring various “possibilities” with regards to other formats such as Nintendo DS and Wii etc.

“We believe that being able to play these games provides a sense of nostalgia for consumers who played them in the past, while also giving new consumers an opportunity to become familiar with Nintendo’s game series and characters. Taking technical challenges and other factors into account, we would like to continue exploring a variety of possibilities going forward.”

  1. The service is kind of a slog. It feels like we won’t have a lot of games before we even get the other consoles. On the positive side, I’m glad they’re considering DS and Wii, although I’m curious on how they’re going to approach DS since the stylus was the main tool for that system.
