SEGA has confirmed in a recent report that they will be releasing a physical edition of the long-awaited Persona 6 on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the PlayStation 5. However, SEGA counts Game-Key Cards as physical releases and seeing as Persona 3 Reload was a Game-Key Card, it seems natural to think that Persona 6 will also be a Game-Key Card release.
SEGA: Persona 6 will get physical release on Switch 2, likely to be Game-Key Card

Always a game key card. Fiddle sticks.
Why was sonic racing cross world the only game they published that was on a cartridge? If they did it once, they could do it again for their other games.
Crossworlds is a ps4 and switch game so is made for lower read speeds, newer games need more than what physical cards can handle.
90% of games that came out on ps5 but not ps4 will be game key cards, the read speeds just aren’t there.
Physical cards have 400mbs
Sd express 800mbs
And internal is 2100mbs
Those are lies from companies to move you to digital
oh sure, thats why you can test it yourself. instal a modern game on an old ssd
Games can be optimized and made to run off of Cartridges. Companies are only choosing Key Cards out of greed, conditioning of the consumer, and to rid the world of physical media because it gives them more money and control over everything.
or technology has evolved and nintendo had 2 options. gamekeycards or make a brand new cardrige, cost of games would increase massivly and conspiracy nutjobs would yell that they only care for money and control
Somebody doesn’t pay attention to Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, and most other modern companies and the things that they not only do but say. They do not want you to own your games or have any power or choice. Once Physical is gone, Digital will follow because they don’t want you to have any way to own a game. It’s going to all turn into Game Streaming subscription so you cant own, pirate, or back up a game and only have access as long as a company wants and how they want. It’s not a conspiracy.
I will never understand the mentality required to want to buy a game key. Digital only i could understand, hell even those shitty discs that require an extra download but still have most data on disc makes sense if its based on someone with spotty internet. But someone buying keys would have to be someone who doesn’t want the benefits of all games being accessed from a digital library, yet also doesn’t care about the actual point of physical copies containing the entire game and independent from online requirements. It would have to be someone who wants them purely for having plastic cases, so wanting something physical without their actual benefit, while also lacking the convenience of a digital library. All very baffling and vapid.
The physical release news for Persona 6 on Switch 2 is interesting, especially for fans who prefer having a copy on hand. It will be worth seeing how the Game-Key Card format affects the overall experience and storage requirements. For anyone who also follows Placer County Cases keeping up with clear and organized information can be useful across different topics. Looking forward to hearing more details about the release.
I never liked GKC, i understand what Nintendo was going for, but greed and rising costs… it was always going to be this way with huge 3rd partys. Now that physical is coming to an end, besides Nintendo, ppl will buy start buying them more and more. Ive accepted i’ll buy them if its the only option. Besides the homebrew community will fix any worries i have.
“physical release on game-key card” is a contradiction in terms.
